August 21   AUGUST POP OUT - We are going to see the Tamburitzans at the South Park amphitheater on Friday, August 21 . Show starts at 7:30 pm and is free. You are permitted to bring your own lawn chairs, food and beverages. Food and beverage trucks are available as well. Sign-up sheet can be found on the table in the back of the church. 

August 29    SENIORS FOR SAFE DRIVING - classroom instruction only. There is NO on-the-road driving or classroom testing. Class online held at POP on Saturday, August 29, 2026, 9:00am – 1:00pm. Course tuition fee is $17.00 per student, and payment is due upon registration. There are 3 ways to register by phone 1-800-559-4880 web: www.SeniorsForSafeDriving.com or pick up a form which can be found on the table in back of the church and mail it to the address on the form. You MUST register and pre-pay for the class. Please let Karen Light know if you have registered at lightkj@live.com. 

September 5    MEN’S BREAKFAST will be held on Saturday, September 5 at 9:00 am in the Luther Room. Come and bring a friend. If you would like to bring anything for the breakfast, please advise Jack Puskar at jkpush@yahoo.com 

September 12    PET BLESSING will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 11:00am at the Pleasant Hills Arboretum. No need to RSVP, just bring your pet(s). Just like at Prince of Peace, where all are welcome, all pets are welcome too! If your pet is unwell or nervous in social situations, please feel free to bring a collar, leash, or picture to be blessed. m

September 13    GOD’S WORK, OUR HANDS outdoor service at South Park will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Picnic at 1:00pm Worship Service at 3:00pm Pavilion is Grant. Sign-up sheet can be found on the table in back of the church. Let’s pray for nice weather. 

Mark your calendars for our Gods Work, Our Hands, outdoor service at South Park, Pavilion Grant (#92), Sunday, September 13, 2026

Please arrive by noon. We will have a picnic starting at 1 PM, followed by a service at 3 PM

(NO CHURCH SERVICE OR FACEBOOK FEED ON SUNDAY 9-13-26)

Please feel free to bring a camp chair. Lots of beautiful level grounds around the shelter.

Easy access to shelter from parking lot. Handicapped accessible Port o Potties

(IN CASE OF RAIN, THE PICNIC & SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT PRINCE OF PEACE, SAME DATE AND TIME, CHECK WEBSITE OR FACEBOOK FOR UPDATE)

Grant is off of Corrigan, down from Brightstar (where it has been in the past)

Please rsvp, we will have a sign up sheet at church, just so we have an idea of how many will attend.

Before service, we will be having hotdogs, with all the fixins and condiments & a variety of chips and bottled water.

We won't be able to keep cool things like potato salad, really anything with mayonnaise in it, so maybe some dessert or side dish that does not need to be refrigerated.

Suggested games to bring, Corn Hole, Ladder game, badminton, etc

September 19     SEPTEMBER POP OUT will be a “Church Family Feud”. Something new, and hopefully fun! This event will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 2 pm. More information and sign-up sheet can be found on the table in the back of the church. 

September 26     MARK YOUR CALENDAR to join PLUM’s 9th Annual Mission Project working with the faith-based organization “Rise Against Hunger” at Christ Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:30pm. Sign-up sheet is located on the table in back of the church or see this week’s flyer insert to register for the event on-line. Everyone must be registered by September 13, 2026. 

October 10     FALL CRAFT & VENDOR SHOW will be held on Saturday, October 10, at the Home Economics Building at South Park from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Volunteers are needed for Friday, October 9th at 6:00 pm to help set up, and on Saturday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are a lot of opportunities to help! Sign-up sheet can be found on the table in the back of the church.

October 24     POP FLEA MARKET is being held on Saturday, October 24 from 8:00 am-12:00 pm in the Luther Room. There are a lot of good items to be sold. We are now accepting any new or “gently used” items for sale at the Flea Market. Please see Susan or Doug if you have any questions.
