Saturday, September 7, 2024 10:00 am to 12:30 PM
This is our 7th annual P.L.U.M. mission project working with the faith-based organization “Rise Against Hunger” to host a meal packaging event. We will coordinate an assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals. Together we will package over 12,000 meals that will be sent to school feeding programs around the world, medical clinics, child growth and development centers, elder care and crisis and disaster centers.
We need at least 50 people to help package the meals. In addition, we need a group of able-bodied people at Christ Lutheran at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7th to help unload the truck and set up our fellowship hall for the event.
The actual meal packaging will take place 10:00 am sharp – 12:30 p.m. the same day.
School-aged children are welcome and encouraged to be a part of this wonderful project!
Please make the commitment to help with the event on Saturday, September 7!
Feel free to invite family & friends from your community!

STEWARDSHIP 101
Saturday, September 21
10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Resurrection Lutheran Church
7600 Steubenville Pike Oakdale, PA 15071
As Christians, how do we clearly define stewardship? What does God teach us about stewardship through His Word? What does stewardship mean for each of us personally and is it a journey versus a quick fix? How does a clearer understanding about stewardship impact our individual churches and the church at large? Can one or two people focused on healthy stewardship make a difference in ministry to those in our midst and surrounding communities? Are there programs out there that can jumpstart a congregation’s focus on stewardship? Is stewardship a lifestyle?
These are a few of the questions we will be wrestling with when members of our PLUM congregations gather for an educational program on stewardship on Saturday, September 21st. PLUM is sponsoring this program to examine how stewardship can impact each of our lives and each of our churches. We would like a minimum of two individuals from every church in our PLUM network to take part in this event. Resurrection Lutheran Church will be our host for this session, and they are located at 7600 Steubenville Pike in Oakdale, PA 15071. The hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is no fee for this program and lunch will be provided (reservations are required). Our guest speaker will be Barb Nugent, Vice President of the SWPA Synod of the ELCA.
So, join us for a spiritual journey on stewardship. Please RSVP to Deann George at 412-951-0466 or email deann.george@plumofpa.com no later than Monday, September 16th to make your reservation. You can also contact Mary Anne Novak at 412-979-8574 or novakbbb@aol.com. WRESURRECTION
