its series on “Learning More about God’s World”. The
series of talks and slides about places around God’s
world includes trips Central African Republic
(continuation) on April 10th by Susan Smith;
Japan on May 8th by Michael & Beverly Schenz;
Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego in Chile/Argentina on
June 12th by Joyce Larkin. Lunch will be
served after Liturgy with slides starting by 1:15 p.m.

in Dormont
offers its annual Fish Fry on Wednesdays during Lent at
6:00 pm followed by a contemporary Drama. They also
offer Lenten Fish Fry on Fridays from 4 pm – 7 pm.

in East Carnegie
has soup suppers on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm followed by
Evening Prayer at 7:00 pm in Lent.
Many of our P.L.U.M. churches are planning special
worship services during Holy Week:

St.
Andrew Lutheran Church is offering a worship
service on Maundy Thursday, April 21st
at 7 pm. Following that service they begin a Prayer
Vigil that runs during the evening of Maundy
Thursday through 3 pm Good Friday. The Vigil
provides the opportunity to keep watch in meditation
and prayer through the night of our Lord’s betrayal
arrest, suffering and death.

Lutheran Duquesne
will offer a Maundy Thursday Holy Communion
Liturgy on April 21st at 7:30 pm with
Bishop Kurt Kusserow of the Southwestern PA Synod of
the ELCA leading worship.

Andrew, East Carnegie at Noon; Trinity
Lutheran Church, Sheraden at 7:30 pm –
Pastor Siefert will lead the evening service of
Tenebrae. The service is based on the “Seven
Last Words from The Cross” of Jesus Christ.

Christ Lutheran Church, Duquesne, 7:30 – The
youth of Christ Lutheran lead this dramatic
service commemorating the death of Christ.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Oliver, 7:30 pm
– Vicar Melba Dibble will lead worship at
Trinity this evening. Trinity’s worship will be
preceded by a Seder Meal at 6:00 p.m. If you

Bethlehem Lutheran, Allentown, 7:00 pm.
Pastor John Gropp serves as worship leader for
this traditional service which includes the
reading of the Passion According to Matthew.

will be the worship leader.

Holy
Saturday – Easter Vigil:
There are two opportunities to participate in the
Easter Vigil again this year.

St.
Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Shadyside will be
hosting Lutherans from around the city of
Pittsburgh, gathering for the Easter Vigil at
8:00 pm. Pastor Paul Koch and Pastor John Gropp
will be participating in this Vigil.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Allentown, will
host their annual Easter Vigil beginning at 7
pm. Pastor Beth Siefert, Pastor William Hower
and Vicar Melba Dibble will be leading this
service.
LOOKING AHEAD!
ELLC
has begun their
monthly flea markets on the first Saturday of each month
from 9 am – 1 pm. They’re always looking for new
‘fleas’, as well as baked goods each month!

Duquesne
is hosting their semi-annual Flea Market, Bake Sale and
Lunch on Saturday, April 30th from 8 am – 1
pm.
Christ Lutheran,
Duquesne
is also hosting its 4th Annual Celebration of
Women on Saturday, May 7th at Noon. Join us
for a fun-filled day celebrating the women in our
lives. This event is for women and girls of all ages.
There will be good food, fun and surprises. $7.50 for
adults and $5 for children under 12. Purchase your
tickets by Sunday, May 1!
Christ Lutheran,
Duquesne
is also bringing Silver Ring Thing to West Mifflin High
School on May 14th from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. This
is a wonderful, upbeat program that teaches youth (5th
grade and up) about abstinence from a biblical
standpoint in a concert-like environment. Promotion
flyers and posters are available at the church and were
handed out at the Retreat in March.
