The Vicar's Vision

November 2010

There is something quite unsettling about sitting in a room full of men and women that will decide your future in ministry. I can tell you there was an enormous emotional rollercoaster going on in my body while I waited for the decision of the Candidacy Committee regarding my endorsement. Sitting in the same room with the Candidacy Committee is scary but they are wonderful group of lay leaders and pastors who are very interested in the welfare of the church and future pastors.

So now I am officially an intern. I have the next twelve months to learn as much as I possible can about being a pastor in a church community. There is an intern committee, made up of members of each of the P.L.U.M. churches, that will oversee my progress and welfare. This committee will spend a lot of time with me over the next year guiding and accessing my abilities.

I would like to thank each of the committee members for volunteering. It is very humbling to see how many of you were interested in being involved with the intern process.

I truly want to learn all I can over the next year. But even more than that, I pray my walk with God will enable me to share His love with all of you. Every congregation in P.L.U.M. is such a treasure; there is so much potential and hope for continued growth and very fertile mission fields in every one of our churches. The Holy Spirit is present and active in each of us. Through God's grace and the power of the Holy Spirit may we continue to grow in our relationships with one another and with our Heavenly Father.

I thank God for all of you and for the care and concern you have shown to me and my family.
